Small Claims Court: plumber/gas man to install a condenser gas boiler.

Hi,

I recently got a plumber/gas man to install a condenser gas boiler instead of our conventional one (trying to be a little green!). When we got the invoice, I was surprised at how expensive it was and questioned him over it. He explained where the price came from and so, while still not happy, I paid him.

I have since discovered that he did the same for neighbours of ours recently but only charged them a third of what he charged me. The houses are identical and no extra work had been done in either house to make the job any different.

I was wondering if I am able to bring him to the small claims court to try to get back some of my money?

There is no rule saying he has to charge the same for both jobs , I presume they bargained before hand...
