just wondering has anyone ordered an Octavia
1.9 tdi elegance for 07?i've heard prices have gone up 8%
for 07? i was surprised to hear this if its true.
and has anyone had same in 06?if so how is it performing?

I was thinking of buying one but a hefty price increase won't encourage me.... I have heard that the extra that you pay for the Elegance over the Ambience won't be reflected in the resale value. However, if you want the benefits of climate control as well as the extra bits and pieces then maybe its worth it.
Its worth noting that 1.9's are undergoing a change - see the engine specifications for the 1.9 tdi on www.skoda.co.uk - after week 46 of 2006 the fuel economy improves by about 5 mpg and the CO2 emissions drop significantly. If we do get emissions-based road tax then the later model may save you some money - it'll save you a bit on fuel anyway. Cars sold new in Ireland should have a CO2 emissions declaration - worth checking that its 132 g/km and not 143 g/km. Even if they can't supply a new one (and I'd imagine that the Elegance is the slowest to sell) then it should be a haggling point.
