About to purchase a 2 bed ground floor apt. (There is a 3 bed duplex overhead). It has a natural gas fired central heating system. Just enquiring about the size of the water tank in the hot press. It goes from the floor to the ceiling taking up the whole hot press! Are they normally meant to be this big?

Just check to see if it is open topped with a lid

This is a hot water cyinder with its cold water storage cistern on top.

A combination cylinder is quite common and indeed does take up a lot of space.

Aha. Thanks for that. Can look at it again when doing a snag. The lagging jacket is wrapped around the whole assembly. Originally I thought that the cold water might come from a tank in the roof space of the duplex above me. Any issues with water pressure through the taps or a shower with a combination cylinder system? There is a shower installed in the bathroom. It is not a "power" shower.

I bought a new 2 bed apt recently and i have a combination tank.
I find the water pressure excellent. You should be able to check that when you're doing your snag.
