Site in North Co. Dublin

Hi,

I'm originally from Swords and am looking for a site to build a single family dwelling in the region of 2,000 sq foot somewhere north of swords e.g Lusk, Rush, Skerries. Anybody any information on pricing, how easy to buy one, difficulties regarding planning etc? Useful contacts/websites?

For Rush anyway, you're in luck wrt planning. Up to last year, you had to be from the area and in need of housing etc. However some area's of the town have now been rezoned straight-forward residential, without all the "local" pre-conditions.

Downside is that those sites are a good bit more expensive!

It can be pretty difficult finding sites anywhere in County Dublin.
Prices in the area start at 150k for 1/2 an acre and run upwards.

You are looking ate 250k+ per site.
It can be very very hard to find a site in NCD.

I know sites are advertised for less but I get the impression there is strong demand and the price increases quickly.

I guess for the size of house you are looking at you are thinking of 250k for a site and the same or just under for a timber framed house to be built and somewhat finished/landscaped.
