Silly question

Hi,

Silly question from me.

I have an account with AIB, I am going to open a savings account with another bank as AIB interest is very bad on my account.
Do I need to visit a bank to open an account?. What way will I transfer money from one bank to another, will there be a fee?, how long does it take?
