I was made redundant on Oct 30th 2009. Based on my PRSI contributions I would qualify for JB. I haven’t claimed JB in the past. I received a redundancy payment of about €85,000.
During my notice period I decided to pursue a full-time third level course which started in Oct and has recently finished.
Am I correct in thinking that I would still be disqualified for claiming JB for 8 weeks because of the redundancy payment? And so any payment would commence 8 weeks from when I register and would last 12 months from registration date?
