signing off

i've been receiveing benefits since my return from traveling. i've now got a job starting monday and i will be paid a salary monthly. can i still collect for the month until i get paid? ? -what am i ment to live on in that month if not.
can i send a letter to my local SWLO to tell them i have a job?

You should go to your local social welfare office today to sign off.

You cannot claim when you are employed, but if you have nothing to live on until your first payday you could go to your local community welfare officer who may be able to help you out with an urgent needs payment, but you will be required to pay it back.
