Signal Amplifier

Need advice on where to put an amplifier or booster for my television signal. My incoming cable connection is divided 8 times and as a result the reception in each room is quiet poor. To clarify incoming connection is perfect but poor reception is due to signal being split so many times. Do I put a booster before the splitter or after? What type of booster should I use? Where can it be bought?

Remember that boosting a poor signal will just boost the interference too. Signal boosters do not clean up the signal in spite of what some vendors of such gadgets might imply. Places like Argos, Peats and Maplin etc. sell TV signal boosters. You might get better/more industrial quality ones from specialist TV/electrical supplier.

or ask your cable provider to install one or more additional socket points ?
