Side Entrance - minimum width

All,
Just wondering does anyone know what the minimum side entrance width is between house and divide wall to neighbour? I thought it was 1 meter (>3ft) . Measured ours yesterday and it's max 85cms.

If it is 1 meter what can we do about it? (If anything) - Is there a safety issue etc?

We live in an estate and the houses are all completed. So our wall seperates us from neighbours.

Found this on the Wexford Co. Co. website - Can't find anything on Wicklow. But this a guideline rather than a rule?

· A minimum distance of 2.3 metres should be provided between the side walls of the dwellings in the estate.

thats quite big! you should be able to ring the local county council who will tell you what was allowed when the planning application was submitted.
