Showing House on news

Just saw rte news about the girl who fell overboard on the cruise liner, I think it is very wrong that they show the girls home why would they do that what purpose is served , who do they think they are to show the house,

I actually thought exactly the same thing... but I guess they had to fill 30sec of footage... still I agree.

My wife commented on exactly the same thing this evening. Why oh why do RTE keep insisting on doing this on the families of victims of crimes and tragedies?!

.. and in a similar vein .. there was footage on UK TV of Charles Kennedy leaving his house. If you knew the area you could probably figure out which house is his from the footage, but the TV company scrambled the house number on the gate pillar.

To protect his privacy ?
