Should Snag List be fully completed before closing?

I was just wondering if all items on a snag list should be rectified by the builder before drawing down on the mortgage and closing? We have quite a long snag list but our solicitor seems to think it will be ok to close before all items are rectified. I am very dubious about this as we have had a lot of problems with the builders (delays, leaks, enforcement order).

Also the solicitor mentioned that
"be aware that the contracts provide that the Builder can charge interest on any unpaid balance after days". Does this mean that even if we are not happy that the sang list has been completed properly that the builder can start charging us interest?

i think if you expect the full snag list to be completed you'll be sorely disapointed. the builders generally will do about 2/3's of the list. any small stuff you can do yourself, they generally don't do.

yes if you are late in closing i believe they can charge you interest.

make sure any big stuff on the snag list is done. but don't expect every single thing to be done and don't nag the builder. try to stay on his good side.
