I have a large sum in BOI. It's invested until Jan next year. My cousin who is an accountant said I should take it out and pay off my mortgage in case everything goes belly up. Is he correct in his view. If I take out my savings early I won't get the e5,500 interest in Jan, but I don't want to lose my savings either and be left with mortgage if everything goes belly up. Thanks.

I think you should leave it where it is and just monitor the current situation. I also believe if the bank has survived up to now it probaby has weathered the storm.

Which BoI deposit product? Did BoI tell you that you would lose the interest?
