I am about to finish a ground-level conversion of our garage into two bedrooms and a bathroom. I have a concrete sub-floor (about 4 inches below floor level of the rest of the house) to work on, and have installed fantastic antique pine floors in both new bedrooms. The plan was to put a cement floor and tiles in the bathroom, but having seen the bedrooms I'm thinking a wood floor would look amazing.
Question is... i imagine wood doesn't like water splashes/leaks/steam, and would warp after a while. However, plenty of people have wood floors in their upstairs bathrooms and that seems fine.
So would it be madness to install a wood floor downstairs, is their any way of doing it and avoiding water problems? (I'm open to using any kind of wood)
Thanks!
