Should I bring my last P45 to tax office?

Hi, my question is

Should I bring my last P45 to tax office if i'm unemployed? or should I wait until I find something? If I bring it to them will it change something in my tax credits?

I had a hope of finding a job quick ...but :( I guess not so quickly....

Yes. If you have it bring it with you. Otherwise you can get a copy from Revenue.



apologies, i mis-read your post. (thought you wanted to know if you should bring P45 to Social Welfare Office)

Are you hoping to claim back tax paid for this year?

Sorry you cannot transfer tax credits to partner. Only to wife.

You can after 4 weeks unemployed either send P45 to tax office with P50 for refund on the drip system or you can give it to your new employer who will allow you any accumulated tax credits.
 
Went to tax office! The service was unbelievably quick. I'm going to get some money back ( the tax I paid for this year). Not bad...I wasn't expecting that at all.

They said I can move tax credits as soon as I'm off the dole
