Short-term rental of PPR - tax implications

Hi folks,
I'm heading off travelling for 4 months and decided to rent my apartment (which I bought about 3 years ago - didnt pay stamp duty) for the time I'm away to cover the mortgage. The tenant is looking for a reference which is fine, but also my PPS number as he is looking to get a PPS number himself. Would this have tax implications for me with regards to a stamp duty clackback and/or tax on the rental income? Maybe it would be safer to leave the place vacant?

Thanks,
Kieran

There are several previous discussions on this subject. It may be possible perhaps to avail of the "rent a room" scheme in order to avoid SD clawback but opinion seems to be divided on this.
