Short break recommendation

I am looking for a cheap short break for the October Bank Holiday weekend (Sat to Tues). A lot of the "cheap" airlines are costing over €400 for 2 for the flights to most places.
Has anyone found any european city breaks that don't cost a fortune around that time of year?

Have you checked out www.skyscanner.net?

I've done a quick search & found flights with...

1. Aer Lingus to Brussels for €130-ish each (easier airport & much less transfer time than Ryanair to Charleroi)

2. Ryanair to Karlsruhe Baden for €80-ish each - destination info on it at

There's no bargains that w/e because it is the Bank Holiday & everybody else has had the same idea, but months before you... so all the cheap seats are gone!
