A shop near my estate is storing food stuff even after the expiry of BBE date (1 year). When I asked the shop assistant about this, the assistant replied that it was a dried item & so nothing should happen and also mentioned that people are still buying it & hence they have no intention to remove from the shelf. Also more that 75% of the stuff sold in the shop dont have a price displayed. How do I go about & complain about both the issues.

According to the Q&A page on the [broken link removed] website, it is not illegal to sell packaged foodstuffs after the best-before date so long as the foodstuff is still in a fully acceptable condition, but if the out-of-date stock is to be sold, it is strongly recommended to indicate to the consumer that the foodstuffs have passed the ‘best-before’ date. It's different when the date is given as "use by" rather than "best before"; food past a "use by" date may not legally be sold.
