I bought shares 10 years ago, that delisted 5 years ago. Now i am liquidating my portfolio, can i write this loss off against the profits, to reduce CGT?
There is some facility whereby Revenue allow one to write off a capital loss on shares that were never actually disposed of but which are effectively worthless. This might well apply in this case. There was an article about this on AAM before but it seems to have got lost. Check with Revenue to see what they say on the matter.
