Shared debts

Myself and my ex have some shared debt, which has always been paid from our joint account. I left the house some months ago, my ex remained in the house (jointly owned) and has a lodger. My ex is not working.
The shared debt is mostly in my name, but within our mediation agreement we both agreed that we were each liable for 50% of this.
Recently my ex cannot afford to pay their share of the mortgage, which has led to pay bills also not being paid (all of these are paid via our joint account).
Is there anything I can do to force them to pay this?
To complicate matters we are also in the middle of a divorce. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well you know that she/he cannot afford it so how do you propose to force them to pay. Despite your mediated agreement if one party cannot pay then if the other party is on the debt you've little choice but to pay. It's not fair maybe but otherwise your credit rating will be ruined.
