Hi Everyone, There are rumblings of redundancy where i work now as a paye worker, so i want to set myself up as a soletrader in the early year, i want to start a small bridal floristry business from home, and dont expect the turnover to be over say €25 - 30k for the first year. Ive already got some interest and orders but dont know the amount i will definately make for the year or when i will definately leave my job at present.

My question is, if i set up a business name and sign up as a sole trader now, should i contact the tax office yet, or wait until money starts to come in?

thanks

The timing or registering with the tax office is not crucial, but if you have orders I would suggest that you do that sooner rather than later.

You should make sure you are keeping your books in order and get everything set up for this.

HI
Why not contact your local enterprise board they are great for giving out information on setting up your own business and this information is free of charge
