Setting up a new website

Hi there

Could anybody please give me an idea how much one should expect to pay for (I am not looking for cheapest of the cheap now, looking for decent quality!):
  • A standard website (up to 10 pages)
  • With online order form functionality
  • Include website hosting and email
  • Register site with search engines
A ball park idea of start-up and ongoing costs would be great, thanks!

Order form for what?

You'd need to be a lot more specific than that
  • Include website hosting and email
You can get hosting these days for under 40 euro / year
  • Register site with search engines
Professional SEO is a lot more than simply submitting your site to a few search engines / directories. It can cost thousands, but save you a lot more

In terms of costs you're probably looking at anything from 2k upwards... though that will vary incredibly

Website build costs can increase considerably depending on what you require. Any notion of online processing of details, shopping trolleys, selling online, basically anything above flat pages with images and text you will be hitting the thousands mark.

A more advanced site, requires more specialist software development skills, and leaves the realm of 'web design/brochure-like sites'

So as stated above, more detailed requirements of what you actually see the site doing are needed for any sort of proper ballpark quote I'm afraid

I used these guys twice and very good - - Based in Meath and they don't have Dublin Pi
rices !

I have used [broken link removed]. They are based in Longford and have a web design arm to them.

Did great work for me and at good prices too. Think they have a web design quote page that you can look at.

Shop around is the best advice, any reputable web design firm will have a number of sites from previous customers in their portfolio - most will give you a free consultation so dont be afraid to take advantage of that, spend some time finding out about the company - ask previous customers how they felt about their service.
Also be clear in what you require at the beginning of the project, many firms will up the price if you go looking for additional features after the original quote.
try this link for a reasonably priced reputable website development firm
