Setting up a business

I'm a full time employee at the moment and was thinking of setting up a small business also. what are the implications tax wise if I do so and what would be the best method sole trader or Ltd? Any advice gratefully taken

As someone who is in a similar boat, I would highly recommend doing a "start your own business" course, typically run by Fás or your local city/county enterprise board. This course really helped me in understanding the nuances and implications of business, and made my decision in the sole trader vs limited company debate. It is especially useful if you do not have specific prior business experience.
