Hi,
When the ECB dropped some years back, I decided I would start to re-pay above my repayment schedule to avail of the lower rate so I've probably been paying around 35% more than I need to for the last 3 yrs. I made it very clear to AIB that I reserved the right to go back at any time to my original payment schedule and they agreed this.
In the meantime, I want to use the extra repayment money to save towards a car next year so called AIB Mortgage Centre to ask them what my current repayment schedule would be now be if I stopped over-paying and revert to the origial schedule at the current tracker rate.
That was over 3 weeks ago and despite ringing them every second day, the only answer I can get out of them is that it's still 'with the Accounts team' having been told it would take no longer than 3-5 days. Every time I call, I'm met with a brick wall of process and bureaucracy and am actually starting to get paranoid that something else is at play now...
Any suggestions on how best to handle this please?
