My less than one-year-old Renault Scenic has a little message telling me to change my oil. 15k done so fair enough. Contacted my local Renault dealer. The friendly service manager tells me that they don't do oil changes but suggested that I have "first" service. This was going to cost €220. I felt that this was a bit excessive so didn't make an appointment.
Decided to go back a week or so later as only a Renault garage can reset the computer to get rid of my message. So if I changed the oil myself I would then have to go to a Renault garage to get rid of the annoying message. However this time the cost of the service had no gone to €260. The explanation for the difference was vague and what the service included was glossed over - all I heard was check lights, wipers, and brakes... A full service starts at €360. This is not due until I have done 28k
