Am a separated mother of one and am about to be made redundant. I have a mortgage of 1900 euros per month. I have worked full time for the last 17 yrs. Can someone tell me what social welfare payments I could recieve until I get a new job (trying to be optimistic).
It is dependent on what wage you are currently on, and in regards to the redundancy payment you will receive you may be denied SW for a period of weeks if the amount is in excess of €50,000
If you log onto www.citizensinformation.ie you can check the categories on Job Seekers Allowance and Mortgage Interest Supplement and work out what your payment may be according to your current earnings. As far as I know you will be given an allowance toward the interest element of your mortgage but not the principle, you apply to the Community Welfare Officer for this.
