The new Level Health Plan C has Blackrock Clinic covered up to Semi private room rate for certain Cardiac Procedures. That would be fine, except I think all their rooms are Private! Anyone have any experience of how much extra per night that would cost? I would not of course be requesting a private room. And I am talking about cardiac procedures only

You are correct in saying that all their 170 rooms are private. In light of that it would probably be best if you were to check with both the provider and the hospital to ensure you have the correct information.

answer from hospital:
"Shortfalls can be capped or waived dependent on the time of admission and code you would be having.
We can only check cover and confirm waivers for planned procedures with an active policy number."
I had pointed out that I was only asking because I was thinking of changing to Level Health Plan C Day to Day. It would be a bit late finding out I wasn't covered AFTER I change insurance companies!

Enter the plan details here to see what's covered in Blackrock. Most planned procedures are covered under "inpatient procedures". A stay in Blackrock other than a procedure, say entering via the A&E, or as a complication from a covered procedure, would be under "Acute medical stay (per diem)". In the case of Level plan C both attract a nightly fee of €175. This would in reference to covering the difference between the semi private rate and the private only rooms they offer there.
