Selling small amount of uk shares - advice

Hi

My parents have a small amount of shares in Standard Life and Vodafone - in total around 3k worth which they want to sell. They wouldn't be familiar with share trading and wouldn't have a relationship with any broker.

What is most cost effective way of selling these - e.g. broker with competitive fees, online, or other?

Any advice welcome...

Vodafone offer a low cost share dealing service to small shareholders via their registrar Computershare in case that's of any use?

Maybe Standard Life also offer something similar? If not then you may need to sell via a stockbroker.
