I was left irish shares in aib and crh. They are nominal value. I have them a year or so now and don't think I will sell them. If I do decide to sell them is I a time consuming and exoensive process. Are these good shares to keep?
Thanks

A good question.

AIB ,if you have a family, Well if they start producing these might be worth something half decent in another 50 or 60 years, and as long as you're not in a hurry they'll be fine.

CRH are a good well run company and depending how many you have are worth a good price. Worth around €14 each.

Easy to sell them if you leave the certificates with a stockbroker, who might advise you what to do depending on your personal circumstances

Is AIB 100% State Owned? if so I thought the shares were worthless.

They are, but the Government are trying hard to reorganise and recapitalise this Bank with a view to either refloating it or perhaps selling it off. As already stated, as long as nobody is in a hurry.
