I bought a car in the UK last november and imported it and paid VRT. I'm trying to recall if there is a time restriction to selling a car once imported.
I may need to sell soon as I need the cash.

Once you've paid the VRT, you can sell at any time.
The time restriction is if you brought it in VRT exempt (e.g. as part of change of residence): even then you could sell it if you paid the VRT beforehand.
