I am about to put a house up for sale. It was unlived in for many years and i had being doing it up. The structure wiring heating etc is fine but it has no kitchen units or anything in the kitchen. One of the bathrooms is very run down with the units broken looking and will need replacing. The other rooms are fine but could do with painting, and new carpets.
My question is should i put a new kitchen in and appliences and do up the other rooms or leave it as it is so if someone wants to buy it they can chose themselves.
Would be grateful for any answers.

In my opinion, if you spend €5,000, you'll get it back on the double. Not only that, if you don't do some cosmetic work to the kitchen/bathroom areas, you won't sell the house at all unless you're prepared to do so at rock-bottom price. Get rid of all carpets, put down laminate flooring, paint all walls, ceilings, doors etc. including outside (first impressions!), don't need to buy appliances for kitchen, but you should install some basic cupboards to give an idea of the potential shape and outlook. Good luck!

Thanks for replying and for advice Eithneangela. I think i agree with you.
