I recently decided to put my house up for sale, its in the Midlands.
There was an initial charge of €300 to create the brochure post an add online etc.
About a week and a half after cashing my cheque I was in town and discovered his office has been completely cleared, sign taken down everything. His websites are active but his mobile is not being answered.
Is there any comeback available in this situation?
One of my workmates was telling me about I guy we mutually know who owned an Estate Agents in Athlone. He recently shut up shop, switched off his phone and took off!
Seems he pretty much took their money and ran. I hope its not the same as your situation.
Is it normal to charge for a brochure up front? When I sold my flat in England, all those sorts of charges were considered to be a part of the fee they took for selling the property. I haven't sold a property here yet (and probably won't for some time, it looks like!) so I don't know if it is standard practice here.
