I'm Irish and moving to the States next year.

I own one property which is my home in Dublin and plan to sell it so I can buy a home in the States.

Will I be liable to pay any tax here?

Also does anyone know if I'm liable to have pay anything in the States once I move?

Thank you

Re: Selling to move oversea's

No tax to pay here anyway. Your own home is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

Can't see the americans asking for a cut of your own money 'just because' but I'm sure someone will clarify.

Best of luck with your move.
