Hi,

Has anyone heard of this, or advise how we should proceed. We are in the process of selling our home. Our Management company is jeopardising the sale. We are very close to mutual agreed closing date. The contract has not been signed by the purchaser yet because they came back with a few queries re Mgmt company. The queries are regarding sinking fund, and other such detail. The queries are not related to payment of fees (as we have already furnished a fully paid receipt for 2010).
Anyway, our solicitor advised us that the Mgmt Co have said that they will provide the required information for a fee of eur200 cash?!?!?!
We feel like we are being held to ransom here. Our solicitor will not handle this affair, and said that we should just pay the money. There's no mention of a bill, breakdown of services or invoice for this amount. It sounds to me like a brown envelope job?!
We tried calling the Mgmt company, to no avail.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Don't pay it and lose your sale.

Pay it by cheque?
Pay it in cash?

Get details and close your sale.

Details of a sinking fund, if any, should be in the annual accounts. As members you should receive a copy each year. Dig them out and look. Alternatively, get them from the CRO office. What other details are required?
