selling furniture - where?

i have a friend who has a beautiful itialian made table (hexagonal shape) extendable, with 6 chairs, a bureau and a small table, all matching... (have a floral pattern in the wood) as he has renovated his house, they dont fit in with the new decor
do you know where is the best placed to sell these?
can anyone recommend an auction house?
or if you have any other suggestions to sell these, would much appreciate it.
they are not antique, but he spent about 5k when he bought them about 7 years ago -they are like new! - wish i had a spare dining room!!!

i wouldn't be the best for advising on this sort of thing but i know my friend sold a piano on e bay and got a hefty offer, she sold it.
