Selling - Deposit in my name

Hi Guys

If I sell my pad without a estate agent next spring, can I receive the Deposit in my name, lets say 30K and cash it if contract is signed and then the remainder when I move out.

I don't think that you get any money until the sale closes with one solicitor or another holding the money until that happens.
 
This has been covered before if you want to root out the relevant threads. It's obviously all part of the nefarious conspiracy by solicitors to steal your assets and take over the world...
