Selling Company Stock

Hi there,

I'm hoping you can help, I've found it very difficult to find out about what my options are & what the clever thing to do with company shares is.

I get company shares every year for the next 4 years. I can sell my current allocation now, or wait until they build up.

My question is- is there a tax benefit of waiting until I have a number of shares to sell? I heard that there is some government incentive which encourages employees to buy shares in their own company & you don't have to pay capital gains tax on these shares if you keep them for 4 years+. Is this true?

I read that I can get up to 1200€ per year tax free from the sale of shares, my allocation will be more than this.

If I do sell the shares, how do I declare this? This is my first time ever dealing with shares and tax returns, so I really am clueless!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
