Selling Apartment - Managing Agent charging fees for the necessary admin

Hi all,

I am in the process of selling an apartment in central Dublin. As is usual, a Management company is set up, and a managing agent is employed by that company. As has happened a number of times during the life of this apartment development, the managing agent has changed recently.

The new managing agent is requesting a fee in order to provide my solicitor with the necessary documentation to enable me to sell the apartment, including block insurance policy etc:

"Full solicitors pack to include all possible admin incurred = €214.71"

The fee seems excessive, and my solicitor has not come across such a fee before.

What are the experiences of others on this site? Is this type of fee now the done thing or am I being ripped off?

Appreciate any replies.

Thanks - Paul.

I recently remortgaged my apartment and my solicitor had to contact the agent to get the insurance policy details.
There was no fee levied.
Who is your managing company? My place is managed by Wyse.

That fee is in fact pretty standard - perhaps some managing agents do not charge but there is a certain amount of work involved by managing agents in replying to what are called "pre contract requisitions" raised by the Purchasers Solicitor and sent to the Vendors Solicitor in advance of signing contracts.

I would not regard it as excessive but as normal
