Selling affordable homes

I'm in the process of selling mine, I'm not in Dublin though so don't know if the rules there are different?

I just contacted my solicitor and he told me to put the house on the market myself and once I got a buyer he would do the rest like a normal house sale.

Thanks for that. I just heard from Fingal and they said what I thought - I'd pay them back the clawback (% of the sale price) + the outstanding mortgage I owe them at time of sale, and the difference is mine!

Please keep us posted on how yours progresses when you find a buyer! and good luck!

Hi,

Iam not actually selling at the moment. I was just wondering if people are out of pocket if they do, just in case down the line i do want to sell up................

i guess it all depends on when you bought and what the market value was of your house etc. I have roughly calculated that if i sold now and paid back clawback and the remaining mortgage i would roughly make about 180,000 but having said that i have no intention of selling now, bear in mind i have my house over 4 years. 180,000 may seem like a lot but you would be back to square one again looking for a house. I would much prefer the option of remortgaging to maybe convert attic or extend the kitchen but unfortunately don't have that option as was mentioned on a previous thread.
