I disagree. As with any service provider price is important but it's not the main or final arbiter. You also want a solicitor that you can trust to give you a good service and do the job properly. Go by recommendations from trusted family, friends and colleagues who have no vested interest in recommending one solicitor over another and then look at the prices. Note also that some high profile flat rate conveyancing packages may actually cost more than "regular" solicitors - they highlight the conveyancing charge only, exclusive of outlays and VAT, and this charge can be more expensive than the professional conveyancing fee charged elsewhere. Shop around.
