Would anyone know how you go about applying for Social welfare if you are already on JSA and are newly self-employed, but just working a few hours a week?

What do you need to bring with you to SW? Will they need a letter from your employer stating the hours they expect to give you? Or do they take your word for it?

Are you self-employed or employed? You mention self-employment, and then a letter from employer?

If you are working a number of days per week, you will have to provide evidence from an employer to confirm that you'll be a part-time worker, and then you will have to submit forms to the SW office to confirm what days you work each week.

Remember that if you work even one hour in a day, you can't claim Jobseeker's Allowance for that day.

You can be both. If you are employed by a company to carry out freelance work for them yet have to file your own taxes, etc. Self-employed but you get the work from an employer. Okay?

Technically you are not employed by a company to do freelance work. You have a contract, but it is considered a contract for the provision of services, not an employment contract.

I didn't say it was an employment contract. I used the word 'employed' which is what you would be by the other person who has 'employed' you. I obviously didn't mean it in a PAYE sense as I asked about self-employment specifically.
