Self employed PRSI

I was recently sick for a couple of weeks and my employer instructed me to put in for disability benefit.

I just got a letter from welfare informing me that I don't have enough contributions to get this. This will also affect me ability to get back money for dentists' visits, etc.

Looking at the table they sent, they have me down for 0 contributions in 2003 and 25 in 2004. I was self-employed for all of 2003 and half of 2004, so that gels there, but I paid PRSI when I paid my taxes for both those years.

Does self-employed PRSI not count towards this sort of thing? If they're going back 3 years these days (I thought it was only 2) then it's going to be 2008 before I can claim back on PRSI.

Clubman, I read that page before, but I don't see anything about claiming back on "Class S" PRSI.
