Hi,
I'm self-employed but have had little or no work for a year so have been considering giving up my self-employed status and reverting to a PAYE worker (i.e. ending my C2 Registration), then signing on for SW.
Is it worthwhile doing this? I should mention that I was previously turned down for JSA on the basis that my wife's salary put us over the threshold but we are really struggling financially. If I sign on, then are there other schemes I can apply for or would the fact that I don't qualify for JSA mean I wouldn't qualify for them either?
And wouldn't I get tax credits that my wife could use?
To sum up: is there any benefit in giving up my C2 registration and signing on?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers,
bobjim
