Hi there
I am self employed for the last ten years but I am thinking of throwing in the towel. What would i be entitled to? I might take a part-time job instead. Any info will be apprecaited.
thanks

Entitled to in what respect? If you mean Jobseeker's Benefit then presumably won't have the required PRSI contributions for this assuming that you were on Class S or the like rather than Class A for the past decade. If you mean Jobseeker's Allowance then this is means tested and only applicable if you are genuinely available for and seeking work. Given that you seek a part time job you presumably don't want to work full time so you would not receive welfare payments for the time you choose not to work.

You must be available and looking for for full-time work in order to claim Jobseeker's Allowance or Benefit. You will not be paid anything if you are looking for part-time work only.
