Sorry can't find this on revenue or welfare site but what earnings/drawings in a year does a self employed person have to have to be deemed to be in insurable employment and liable to PRSI?

Citizens Information wallchart states that an exemption for those earning less than 5,000 Euro a year applies.

Not sure if you mean that you are both employed and self-employed at the same time.
If this is the case and

  • you earn over E38 weekly from your employment you (or you and employer combined) will be paying a class A contribution
  • you earn E5,000 yearly from self-employment you will be paying a class S contribution
So based on the above situation you would be paying both rates of contributions at the same time
