You mean submit a fraudulent application? I think you know the answer to that question...Question: Given these circumstances, would it be better to only declare his PAYE employment on the SUSI application?
Thank you !You mean submit a fraudulent application? I think you know the answer to that question...
Maybe use the Declaration of Documents Not Provided form to explain why accounts can't be provided?
This isn't true. The situation is complicated because SUSI's website states they won't accept Form 11
Neither, I'll happily wager, is this in the context of a 2024 startup.and require 12 months of accounts from the previous year, but he won't have this due to only starting his business in September 2024.

Why do you consider it impossible for him to prepare 2024 accounts sometime in 2025?
Again, that's totally wrong. SUSI 2025 applications won't be based on accounts ending in 2025.Also that's for this year applications so next year it will be accounts ending in 2025 which is my friends case
Apart altogether from SUSI, your friend would be silly to do 12 months accounts for a business that started mid-year unless he wants to tie himself up in knots and likely end up paying tax twice on the same income. We can do 2024 accounts for the 4 months no problem but it won't be a full 12 months
No, That's correct.Apart altogether from SUSI, your friend would be silly to do 12 months accounts for a business that started mid-year unless he wants to tie himself up in knots and likely end up paying tax twice on the same income.
Ah - I see now that SUSI say that accounts MAY be requested so maybe they only look for them in specific circumstances and not for every application from somebody with self-employment income?I help a lady do her accounts who claims the Susi grant for her children. What they look for each year is the ITSA that is returned after she submits her Form 11. She has never sent accounts.
