Selection for redundancy issues

There are a few redundancies coming up in the factory where I work.We all have different duties and the manager wants to decide the redundancies by "interviewing" us all.

Over the last few years we have had a lot of redundancies and they were usually last in first out, then they decided to go with skillsets, as there wasnt enough of us left to allow some of the specialists to leave on a "last in" basis.

When they put the job spec on the noticeboard it had a few extras thrown in such as " must be able to travel to client sites to facilitate installation".
As this was not in our original contracts and some people cannot travel (no car/driving license etc) is this not unfair? It appears that they are trying to keep the installation crews by giving them some of the factory jobs, even though we have worked these jobs for years and they are completely seperate/different jobs.
