Hi all
Ive just got a new lap top and im trying to connect to my existing wireless internet connection at home. In the set up wizard its asking for the security key or passphrase that i must have given when i originally set up the connection earlier on in the year. Trouble is that i cant find these details anywhere.
Is there somewhere in my old computer that i can look to find these details and copy thm to the new lap top.
Hope there are some computer whizzez out there.
cheers
Paul

Presuming that you 'passorded' (always a good idea til you forget the password) your wireless set up at home and if you don't remember the password you could always reset your modem. Check the manual for the modem.

Connect to the router using a cable. You should be able to browse to the configuration page for the modem using your web browser.
Try
http://192.168.1.254
or
http://192.168.1.1

if you do get to the configuration pages you may also need to login in
usually Id: admin pw: admin or blank

If you are using Eircom BB just run the Eircom setup disc and pick the connect using wireless option. The disc will ask you to find the serial number on the router which will then allow you to connect.
