How much a year is Section 23 Tax Incentive Rural relief worth on a E220,000, Do I get this back in the form of tax credits? Or how does it work?

It is a home I am buying and I have been told that there is a tax break on it. Would i have to be investor to take advantage of this?
 
[broken link removed] is a residential rental property relief as far as I know and, as such, queries about it would seem to be implicitly property investment queries. If somebody can explain if I am wrong I will move the thread back if necessary.
 
Thanks for that. It says that I am entitlted to Tax break in the Urban Renewal relief scheme. Maybe this is not Sect. 23. Just wondering do they give me tax back on my salary?
 
You mean that this has nothing to do with section 23 at all? You really need to clarify which scheme that is relevant to your situation and then read up on that scheme to check how relief is granted.
 
The seller should be able to tell you what % of the purchase price will qualify for Section 23. There is a guide to all of this on the Revenue website.
