Seat Belt ad & Marc Bolan

Am I being over-sensitive, or is the use of the T Rex song Get It On in the current TV ad promoting seat belt use more than a little tasteless, considering how poor Marc Bolan met his end? (In case you didn't know, he was killed in 1977 when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a tree in London. I don't know if he was wearing a seat belt . . .)
