Seasonal Work

Just wondering if anyone can help me. Have been unemployed since the birth of my daughter nearly 4 years ago(ongoing medical problems for 2 years) At present my partner is also unemployed and is claiming for both me and our daughter. I have been offered a job for 11 weeks during the summer, which I am going to accept as it will give me experience. It is a contract job that pays 3000e for the duration. It is working for a festival, so no hope that it could turn into a full time job. Has anyone any ideas on how this would work with my partners social welfare entitlement? Will he still be eligible for some money or will he have to sign off completely? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Elaine

If he is on JB he should be able to retain his own portion and may loose the portion for you (or perhaps retain a tiny portion of same). I think you should talk to your local SW about this.

Thanks for that Blacksheep, job isnt due to start for another 7 weeks, so will see what happens before then. Just think we would be better off even having less money for the few weeks but getting some experience that might lead to a job in the long term!
